1. Our project was almost entirely composed of the written word on a screen, with a few pictures in between to illustrate each point. Those who wouldn't be able to engage in our project are people who are blind, if they did not have access to some screen reading system. However, this technology is not available everywhere and it is not something all people have access to, so it should not be a roadblock for someone to access our content. If I were doing this project again, I would probably add in a voice over aspect to have an audio version of the same information (perhaps like a podcast version) as well as adding text descriptions to pictures to not only add more context to them and to make them accessible to a wider range of people. These are things that we should be adding to everything, really. Often, making projects, media, or anything more accessible for those with disabilities makes it more accessible or valuable to everybody, so improvement should always be encouraged.

2. In building this analysis, my biggest challenge was picking out what I thought were the most essential pieces. There were a lot of tidbits that I wanted to include that I kept out to keep our project within a certain word and time limit. Our topic was something that I'm incredibly passionate about, so I could have done a much larger project on it just on my own because I felt like the content is relevant and plentiful to discuss. In order to keep it on one main note, however, it was difficult to exclude relevant segways into a larger picture of fatphobia. If I had more time, I most likely would expand the project and add more aspects to it. In adding to it, I would talk more in depth about what group of people have access to such texts/movies and how such representations of larger bodies creates a first and lasting impression on them. This would require quite a bit more longitudinal research but something I would really enjoy exploring, because it would hopefully show a larger picture of how representation in children's and teen's media is so impactful to how they view themselves and others for their entire lives. I would add the audio portion to supplement the text as well as image descriptions, too. In doing this project, it definitely inspired me to look at more children's and young adult media to explore how their values reflect societal views and vice versa and see the long term impacts they have. More specifically, I had no idea how deeply fatphobia is ingrained into the wizarding world of thinspiration.

3. Overall, the project I felt like was a stepping stone into further research. One of my goals as a future educator is to have a classroom library to make books more accessible in the immediate classroom, so the literature that does go in it is incredibly important. While I would never remove age appropriate books from a library, it would be important to not only include a wider variety of inclusive books, but also to examine literature with students. I would want them to be able to read texts that include fatphobia and be able to recognize and analyze them and see them as such, rather than taking their intended messages to heart. Because it is incredibly difficult to not read or consume media that does not have fatphobia, homophobia, and more, it's important that young people can interpret them and dismantle their effects, and possibly creating more positive media as a result. Doing this project has definitely influenced my teaching philosophy as well as inspired me to continue research on what materials are necessary for a well-ounded library but also well-rounded people!
